    Future City, with a planned area of 66 square kilometers, is one of China’s four “talent concentration bases for State-owned enterprises”. These SOEs are approved by the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC). It is also the only Future City in central and western China.

    The Wuhan East Lake Free Trade Zone is the first comprehensive free trade area in Hubei province. Located in the core area of the China (Hubei) Pilot Free Trade Zone Wuhan Area, it has a planned area of 5.41 square kilometers. The first phase of the free trade zone — covering about 1.82 square kilometers — is already operating.

    Optics Valley Optoelectronic Information Industrial Park, covering about 82 square kilometers, was the first industrial area to be developed and is the core area in the Wuhan East Lake High-Tech Development Zone.

    Optics Valley Modern Service Park, with a planned area of about 78 square kilometers, is the pioneering area for the advancement of modern services, and a demonstration area for the development of a resource-saving and environmentally friendly society, which is advocated by Wuhan and the East Lake High-Tech Development Zone.
