Optics Valley Optoelectronic Information Industrial Park, covering about 82 square kilometers, was the first industrial area to be developed and is the core area in the Wuhan East Lake High-Tech Development Zone. It is the national optoelectronic information industry leader, and has been an important research and development base in the fields of optical fibers, cables and optoelectronic components.

Priority industries in the park include such industries as optical communications, laser technology, integrated circuits, mobile connectivity, software and financial services.

The park now hosts more than 13,000 enterprises, including well-known names such as FiberHome Technologies Group, Yangtze Optical Fiber and Cable Joint Stock Co, Wuhan Guide Infrared Co, Huagong Tech Company Limited and Douyu.com (a live-streaming website).
