The Wuhan National Bioindustry Base (known as the Biolake), with a planned area of about 30 square kilometers, is the second national-level industrial base in the Wuhan East Lake High-Tech Development Zone.

The priority industries in the Biolake include biopharmaceuticals, biomedical engineering, biological agriculture, precision medicine, biological services, smart medical services and health. 

In overall strength, the Biolake now ranks second among 108 biological industrial parks in China. Its fundamental and sustainable competitive edge ranks first in the country.
