Optics Valley Smart Manufacturing Industrial Park is located at the northeastern of Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone -- also known as Optics Valley of China.

Its planned area is about 24.1 square kilometers and it is a port logistics area, as well as a heavy industry area, innovation industry area and ecological residential area.

The park has a three-dimensional sprawling traffic network of water transport, railways and highways.

The park focuses on the introduction and development of optoelectronic information, high-end equipment manufacturing, new energy, environmental protection and relevant support industries -- as well as its port logistics industry.

It is committed to building a national Optics Valley laser industrial base, a national panel display industrial base, an e-commerce and logistics industrial base -- as well as striving to create a world-leading, domestic and first-class high-tech industrial park.

The panel display industry is one of the industries China has been promoting in recent years. The panel display production base of TCL China Star Optoelectronics Technology Co and a branch of Tianma Microelectronics Co have set up operations in the park.

A smart manufacturing and high-end spare parts industrial demonstration base has been built in the park. At present, the base has attracted leading companies such as Sunshine Kaidi New Energy Group Co and Hitachi Elevator Co.

The laser industrial base covers a planned area of 157.33 hectares and can be divided into an industrial area and a public service area. The laser industry is expected to become a industry with an annual output of 100 billion yuan that boasts complete industrial chains.

The port logistics base in the park was designed to strengthen regional supporting services, reduce the cost of social circulation, promote more businesses, push forward the integration of manufacturing supply chains, bolster the convergence of high-end and high value-added industries, and raise regional core competency. The base will introduce internationally renowned logistics infrastructure providers, establish an e-commerce logistics center, attract transnational enterprises with foreign trade demand, and offer port logistics services to local manufacturers.
