The 2026 Optics Valley Marathon is scheduled to start at 8 am on Nov 15 in the Optics Valley of China (OVC) and will be broadcast live on platforms like CCTV5.

This year's event features both a full marathon and a half marathon, expanding to accommodate 16,000 participants – 10,000 for the full marathon and 6,000 for the half marathon. This year also introduces a corporate team challenge, bringing together innovative teams from tech enterprises and showcasing the strong innovation and entrepreneurship environment in OVC.

The marathon route connects key innovation landmarks such as Optics Valley Square and the Optics Valley SkyRail. Runners will pass significant research platforms and high-tech enterprises, including YOFC, Huagong Tech, and the Hubei Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, offering a firsthand look into OVC's transformation from an optics fiber producer to a hub of innovation.

Technology continues to play a major role in the event. "OVC-made" humanoid robots will once again take part in the race, cheering on runners at music stations along the course.

Meanwhile, the event’s medical support system has been comprehensively upgraded. On race day, 26 medical stations with 606 medical staff will be positioned along the course, creating a comprehensive medical network to ensure the safety and health of all participants.

Nearly 40 branded hotels in OVC will offer early breakfasts, late check-outs, and race supply packages to alleviate travel and lodging concerns for runners. Additionally, participants can enjoy a 20 percent discount on technology tours and exclusive offers on dining, accommodation, and shopping in the zone.
