Hubei SWT Transmission Co, a national-level "little giant" enterprise based in the Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China, or OVC), is showcasing its groundbreaking products at the 4th China International Supply Chain Expo in Beijing from June 22 to 26. 

The company's independently developed RV reducers for robot joints – the world's largest and smallest of their kind – captivated attendees, highlighting China's prowess in high-end precision transmission technology.

The RV reducer, often referred to as the "heart" of humanoid robots' joints, has historically been a bottleneck in the development of China's robotics industry. In 2011, SWT assembled a dedicated team to tackle this challenge. After thousands of experiments, they developed an RV reducer with independent intellectual property rights in 2014. This innovation broke the long-standing foreign monopoly on such technology, slashing the cost of imported products by 50 percent and reshaping the domestic market landscape.

Through relentless technological innovation, SWT has consistently overcome industry barriers, setting two global records. Its giant RV reducer, weighing 2 metric tons and capable of bearing a 45-ton load with a precision margin of just 3 millimeters, is now integral to the "artificial sun" project and the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) plan. Meanwhile, the company's miniature reducer, with an outer diameter of just 30 millimeters and weighing 100 grams, exceeds industry precision standards and is compatible with humanoid robots and robotic dogs.

SWT now offers over 400 product varieties, serving a wide range of intelligent equipment applications. With a 30 percent share of the domestic market, its products are exported to more than 20 countries and regions, maintaining full order books year-round. SWT's cutting-edge innovations are helping strengthen the self-reliance and competitiveness of China's high-end intelligent manufacturing supply chain.
