Seventeen companies from the Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China, or OVC) made an appearance at the 17th Optatec International Trade Fair for Optical Technologies, Components and Systems (OPTATEC) held in Frankfurt, Germany, from May 5 to 7, showcasing their cutting-edge technologies on the global stage. On the first day alone, the OVC companies secured nearly $1 million in prospective orders.

As a premier event in the optics and photonics industry, this year's OPTATEC gathered 780 exhibitors from 40 countries and regions, including Germany, China, Japan, and the United States. The trade fair attracted over 23,000 visitors, with professional buyers making up more than 75 percent of attendees.

In OVC’s dedicated company exhibition area, Wuhan Ledstar Technology Co showcased high-performance ceramic substrates and Optical Switch products co-developed with partners. Its booth caught the attention of international visitors from Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia, leading to procurement intentions with over 10 clients on the first day alone.

Beyond the dedicated exhibition area, several OVC companies set up independent exhibition areas to present their innovative products. Changfei Quartz Technology (Wuhan) Co highlighted its advanced quartz materials and solutions, demonstrating its technological prowess in optics, optical communication, specialty fibers, and the semiconductor sector.

Prior to the 17th OPTATEC, OVC collaborated with the French online exhibition platform VirtualExpo to provide targeted pre-expo promotions, online brand exposure, and business matchmaking services. These initiatives aimed to enhance the international visibility of OVC companies and facilitate global trade connections.
