YOFC advances sustainable development with UN Global Compact
The 2025 UN Global Compact Annual Meeting and the 25th Anniversary Celebration were held at the UN China Office in Beijing on Dec 12. The event brought together over 100 executives from leading domestic and international companies, esteemed scholars, and representatives of international organizations to chart a path for sustainable development.
Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable Joint Stock Co (YOFC), based in Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China, or OVC), was awarded the UN Global Compact Participant Certificate for 2025-2026. This recognition underscores the company's ongoing commitment to sustainable development and solidifies its influence in global sustainability initiatives.
Since joining the UN Global Compact in 2021, YOFC has been guided by sustainable development goals, systematically advancing its practices through the establishment of a three-tier ESG governance framework, publication of ESG reports, and demonstration of green technology achievements. By focusing on responsible operations, smart connectivity, green development, and harmonious ecosystems, YOFC is fulfilling its sustainability commitments and striving to be a key driver of global sustainable development.
YOFC will continue to uphold the 10 Principles of the UN Global Compact, actively participate in related initiatives, and promote the implementation of project outcomes in green production, technology R&D, and supply chain collaboration. By employing its expertise in optical fiber communication technology, YOFC is dedicated to strengthening the global influence of Chinese enterprises on sustainable development.
