Hubei launches autonomic secure computing industry alliance in OVC
The Hubei Autonomic Secure Computing Industry Alliance was recently launched in Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China, or OVC). The alliance comprises 196 member enterprises representing the entire industry chain, including chips, hardware, software, and cryptographic security.
Autonomic secure computing is a crucial field for the safe development of the digital economy. Employing key industrial clusters like OVC, Hubei has begun forming an industrial cluster focused on core sectors such as chips, operating systems, databases, and middleware. This cluster includes several leading enterprises dedicated to technological innovation.

With the establishment of the alliance, Hubei aims to strengthen its capacity for independent innovation and security in critical information infrastructure. The province also seeks to build a secure, controllable, and modern information technology industry system by linking upstream and downstream enterprises, research institutions, and market forces.
OVC is the core area for Hubei's autonomic secure computing industry, with most alliance members based in the zone. In 2024, the OVC information technology innovation industry reached a scale of over 60 billion yuan ($8.44 billion), encompassing chips, integrated machines, and software. The zone has attracted and nurtured key enterprises such as Dameng Database and Kingsoft Office, and has established collaborative innovation ecosystems like Kunpeng and HarmonyOS.
OVC plans to continue strengthening local enterprise development, attract key industry chain enterprises, and increase policy and talent support, aiming to provide crucial support for the high-quality development of Hubei's autonomic secure computing industry.
