2025 Wuhan Open to kick off on Oct 4

The 2025 Wuhan Open is set to deliver a high-caliber, culturally rich, and widely engaging tennis extravaganza from Oct 4 to 12 in the Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China, or OVC).

Brenda Perry, international co-director of the event, announced that the player lineup for the 2025 Wuhan Open is exceptionally strong, featuring 12 Grand Slam singles champions and four former world number ones who will fiercely compete for spots in the WTA Finals.

"Olympic champion Zheng Qinwen will return to Wuhan to compete, joined by rising stars like Mirra Andreeva. The 2025 Wuhan Open promises fans a world-class tennis showdown," Perry added.

Adhering to the principle that "details define quality," the organizing committee has meticulously prepared all aspects of the event, including player accommodations, medical services, food safety, and audience management, ensuring that everything runs smoothly.

This year's Wuhan Open coincides with over 10 sports events during the National Day holiday. The city will host the Wuhan Sports Autumn Consumption Festival at citywide sports venues, cultural attractions, and commercial complexes, distributing 10 million yuan ($1.4 million) in sports consumption vouchers to boost diverse sports and consumer activities.

Wuhan will also launch themed tour buses, check-in points, travel routes, and carnival activities, aiming to create an immersive sports experience where fans and players can interact, integrating culture and sports to harmonize the event with the city.
