In a significant boost to urban transportation, Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China, or OVC) has made remarkable progress in its road development projects, with 17 roads completed and opened in the first half of the year.

Key achievements include the completion of three major roads: Yuping Avenue (Second Section), Gaoxin Sixth Road, and Gaoxin Seventh Road, which serve as vital links in backbone and cluster-connecting networks. Fourteen roads have also been woven into a dense network around schools, hospitals, communities, enterprises, and transport hubs, significantly improving accessibility.

OVC has seen the activation of several "micro-circulation" roads, enhancing traffic flow in central urban areas. For instance, Zhongxin Second Road, although only 391 meters long, plays a crucial role in easing congestion in the Gaoxin Fifth Road area.

Construction is accelerating on other municipal roads, including Guanggu Eighth Road, Keji Third Road, Yuehe Road, Xinzhu Road, Hefeng Street, and Shifang Street. By the end of the year, a total of 63 municipal roads are expected to be completed.

OVC has also initiated preliminary projects for the rapid transformation of Forest Avenue, Weilai Third Road, and Tangxunhu North Road. These efforts aim to establish a "30-minute main urban area access, 20-minute new city commute, and 10-minute community life" transportation network.
