Agreements on several key projects were signed during the 2025 Hubei Software Industry Conference and the Optics Valley Software Industry Summit Forum on April 18, further strengthening the software industry ecosystem of the Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China, or OVC).

Among the highlights, five companies signed agreements with the HarmonyOS (Wuhan) Innovation Center. These partnerships aim to promote the large-scale application of HarmonyOS technology, helping OVC become a national hub for the HarmonyOS industry.

Additionally, the software industry associations from Hubei, Hunan, and Henan provinces jointly released the "Top 100 Software Brand Companies in Hubei, Hunan, and Henan". Over 70 percent of the listed companies from Hubei are based in OVC, including well-known firms such as iSoftStone, FiberHome, and DM Database.

The conference also unveiled the "Hubei Artificial Intelligence (AI) Enterprise Ecosystem Map (2024-2025)", which revealed that OVC hosts a high concentration of AI companies, accounting for 74.11 percent of the AI enterprises approved in Hubei. 

Currently, OVC is home to approximately 27,000 software-related enterprises, with nearly 550 being software companies above the designated size. The industry accounts for over 60 percent of Hubei's software sector, making it a powerful engine for provincial growth.

Looking ahead, OVC will continue to focus on HarmonyOS ecosystem terminal hardware and software development, accelerate the introduction of specialized support policies, build supporting industrial parks, and promote the first trials and uses of HarmonyOS hardware and software products. The zone is also committed to attracting and nurturing open-source communities and projects, providing a robust ecosystem for open-source innovation.
