The 23rd Conference on Overseas Chinese Entrepreneurship and Development in China was unveiled on the morning of Nov 16 in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC), Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province.

Having invited more than 800 domestic and overseas guests from over 67 countries and regions around the globe, the conference this time was organized by the Hubei Provincial People's Government and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council and has become a crucial bridge for overseas Chinese to connect with their homeland.

It is calculated that since its first edition in 2001, the conference has collectively been participated by more than 20,000 overseas Chinese professionals and business people, having brought in some 2,800 projects.

The conference this year held a series of themed forums on the innovative sci-tech collaborations between Hubei and members involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, international education, Li Shizhen traditional Chinese medicine, biomedicine, Hubei products going global, and industrial development empowered by carbon finance.

Other sub-conferences served all parts of Hubei, such as those for cooperation between Jingzhou and overseas Chinese business people and between Canada and Enshi Tujia and Miao autonomous prefecture.

The International Microelectronics Industry Talent Conference & the 13th Changlin-Tien Forum took place on Nov 17, where experts and specialists discussed the sector's new business models and emerging arguments and made their proposals on the valley's future microelectronic development at a roundtable, facilitating OVC's talent recruitment campaign.

The Integrated Circuit (IC) Engineer Joint Cultivation Mode Seminar followed the forum, which representatives from the government, IC industry, college faculties, and students attended.

The Overseas Chinese Biomedicine Innovation and Entrepreneurship Optics Valley Base was unveiled on the same day.
