A team of government officials led by the vice-governor of Saxony, Germany, visited the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC) on July 13.

At the Wuhan Institute of New Energy, German representatives learned about the institute's development history through promotion video instructions and communications. They discussed their future development areas with their Chinese counterparts.

The institute will reportedly arrange delegations to participate in the training sessions in Germany and continue to advance the renewable waste oil project with a German company.

"We welcome corporate delegations to get trained in Germany, and we hope our two sides can deepen cooperation. I am looking forward to a long-standing partnership between the institute and Saxony's economic and educational associations," said the vice governor.

The earliest collaboration between the institute and Saxony dates back to 2016 when the institute worked with Dresden University of Technology in new energy and environment protection.

In 2018, the institute successfully introduced the German-distributed waste oil power generation project in Wuhan.
