Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province, witnessed the grand opening of the 19th Optics Valley of China International Optoelectronic Exposition and Forum (OVC Expo 2023) on May 16. This momentous event, coinciding with the International Day of Light, took place in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone, renowned as the Optics Valley of China (OVC).

Jointly organized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Intellectual Property Administration, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the Hubei Provincial People's Government, and jointly held by the Wuhan Municipal People's Government and the administrative committee of the Optics Valley of China, the event saw the agreement signing of 29 major projects for the valley, worth 32 billion yuan ($4.6 billion) in total.

The projects encompass a wide range of fields, including information technology, advanced materials, new energy and intelligent connected vehicles, and sci-tech finance. The implementation of these ventures is expected to pave the way for groundbreaking advancements in Hubei's optoelectronic information industry.

This time, there are four themed exhibition areas in the expo, with the display areas reaching 20,000 square meters. Over 300 leading enterprises from 10 countries, including the United States, Japan, France, Switzerland, Canada, and Singapore, were cordially invited to exhibit their latest products and cutting-edge technologies in optical communication, all-optical services for the fifth-generation fixed network (F5G), laser technologies, applications, and other domains.
