The China seed capital building has recently been operated in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC), Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province, according to sources from the Wuhan National Agricultural Innovation Center on May 6.

Enterprises agreeing to start operations in the building will enjoy multiple preferential policies for the high-quality development of the seed industry and the life and health industry in the valley.

For example, headquarters of leading agricultural companies or specialized, sophisticated, and new enterprises moving into the building will receive a one-time 10-billion-yuan ($1.45 billion) financial reward; small and medium-sized enterprises with original technological achievements will be granted rental subsidies and a new type of functional agricultural technology research institutions will be given a maximum of 3 million yuan of bonus.

The building is located in the Optics Valley of China, with a total construction area of 34,000 square meters. It can provide headquarters office work, R&D, testing, production and manufacturing, warehousing, and logistics services. It seeks to introduce corporations in the modern biological seed industry specialized in grain production, husbandry, and fishery, as well as research-based firms focusing on agricultural microorganisms, smart agriculture, and other scopes.

Wuhan is currently speeding up its seed industry. From 2021 to 2025, the city will allocate 60 million yuan of special funds to support the industry, make itself a national modern seed industry logistics center, and form a complete industrial chain covering headquarters, R&D, processing, storage, transactions, and logistics.
