The East Lake High-tech Development Zone · World Capital of Selenium (Enshi) Experience Hall opened to the public on Jan 10.

The East Lake High-tech Development Zone is also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC. The new experience hall was jointly built by the valley and Enshi Tujia and Miao autonomous prefecture, and showcases the unique production and living scenes and culture of the Tu and Miao ethnic groups.

In addition, it also displays and sells special agricultural and related products made in Enshi, and promotes Enshi's soil, tea, selenium, and other special resources. A slew of culture and tourism activities will be rolled out in the hall after it officially begins operating.

The OVC federation of trade unions also signed a strategic cooperation contract with the experience hall to encourage trade unions at all levels to procure Enshi's agricultural products in order to achieve rural vitalization and poverty alleviation.

Meanwhile, OVC will support Enshi in building the "Optics Valley Trail", which will be situated in Xiaba village of Enshi – a famous summer getaway. The construction project has a total length of 3.5 kilometers and will connect 10 natural and cultural scenic spots.

In accordance with the unified arrangement of the governments of Hubei province and the city of Wuhan, OVC has been devoted to helping the Enshi people to shake off poverty through industrial development, personnel cultivation, welfare programs, culture and tourism interaction, and labor cooperation.
