5G + industrial internet innovative development is progressing rapidly in China. The nation has built the largest and most advanced 5G standalone network the world has ever seen, and the number of 5G base stations has exceeded 2.22 million, accounting for more than 60 percent of the world total.

All prefecture-level cities and urban areas of counties in China now have access to 5G, whose total number of users has now reached 520 million. Innovative practices related to the 5G + industrial internet model have begun in a slew of backbone industries, such as aviation, shipping, automobiles, electronics, energy and mining, and more than 4,000 related projects are currently under construction.

Zhang Yunming, vice minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, considered the innovative development of 5G + industrial internet as significant in reducing enterprises' costs, raising their product quality, and helping them shift to a greener and safer development approach.

An excellent example of the 5G + industrial internet innovative model is the 5G workshop established by FiberHome Telecommunication Technologies Co, which is located in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China). Although not even a single cable is used in the workshop, all the industrial procedures are controlled via 5G, greatly boosting production efficiency.
