The 2022 China 5G + Industrial Internet Conference was unveiled on Nov 20 in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC) in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province.

The event was attended by senior government officials from the Hubei Provincial People's Government and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), domestic academicians including Zhou Ji, Wu Hequan, Li Deren, Youzheng, Li Peigen, Liu Jingnan and Ding Lieyun, and industry insiders from China Three Gorges Co, Dongfeng Motor Co, and China State Shipbuilding Co.

The conference also had two sub-venues in Xiangyang and Yichang cities.

At the opening ceremony, MIIT and the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology jointly issued the "5+2" top nodes of the identification and resolution system of the industrial internet as well as the 2022 China 5G + industrial internet development result evaluation report.

A total of nine project agreements were signed involving a total investment of 29.1 billion yuan ($4.08 billion) at the signing ceremony.

Zhang Yunming, vice minister of MIIT, highlighted the rapid growth of China's 5G + industrial internet, which has also boosted the development of other industries. The ministry will continue to roll out supportive policies, strengthen the industrial supply chain, enrich industrial applications, and expand the integrated industrial eco-system to deepen the development of the 5G + industrial internet.
