The International Young Talents Summit of the 2022 Conference on Overseas Chinese Pioneering and Developing in China (COCPDC) opened on Nov 16 in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC).

These programs signed at OVC involve biomedicine, new energy, and IC, will bring a number of outstanding talents to the valley and are expected to facilitate OVC's development and to strengthen industrial chains.

Having been one of the hosting units of the COCPDC since 2001, the valley has accumulated rich overseas Chinese resources via the platform, and has introduced a large number of overseas Chinese investing or starting businesses in Wuhan.

The Wuhan Overseas Scholar Business Park established in the valley has formed a full-life-cycle incubation chain featuring "makerspaces + incubators + accelerators", with the whole business incubation area reaching nearly 100,000 square meters. It is currently home to more than 140 sci-tech firms.

OVC is now building an international community able to accommodate 4,000 international personnel, and has so far gathered four Nobel Prize winners, 74 domestic and foreign academicians, over 3,000 high-level talents and more than 7,000 talent teams from home and abroad. About 54.7 percent of people working in OVC have overseas study experience.
