YOFC – an international forerunner of optical fiber preforms, optical fibers, optical cables and integrated solutions based in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC), Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province – has unveiled its overseas talent recruitment campaign to hire college graduates and postgraduates who have just walked out of the school this year.

The company's main products have the largest share in the global market. YOFC also has five overseas workshops and more than 30 subsidiaries and offices abroad that cover 90 countries and regions around the world.

Statistics show that at present, more than half of those working or starting businesses in Optics Valley of China have studied overseas, while 79.6 percent used to work in China's first-tier cities and 57.9 of the zone's personnel have bachelors' or higher university degrees. Among these, four are Nobel Prize winners, 71 are domestic or foreign academicians and 2,905 are experts from the 3551 OVC talent program.

In May 2021, OVC also established the OVC partner investment guidance fund worth 1 billion yuan ($140.3 million). GitLab Inc, which was set up last year, benefited from the fund.

In September, the valley was engaged in allocating special capital in talent subsidies. On Sept 1-20, 141 local enterprises received subsidies totaling 90 million yuan.

A special digital talent card issued by the OVC provides a series of exclusive services to high-end personnel in healthcare, schooling, loans and transport.

In the first eight months of 2022, the valley held 17 online and onsite job fairs, serving 675 enterprises, offering 30,200 job positions and contacting 119,000 college graduates. The valley will continue to arrange 10 more on-campus job fairs in September.
