The China Three Gorges Wuhan Sci-tech Innovation Base was established in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC) on Sept 2.

The innovation base signed a contract with China Yangtze Power Co, Three Gorges Zhikong Technology Co, and many other companies owned by China Three Gorges Co. These firms will jointly construct the base.

The base will mainly fulfill the tasks and goals of China Three Gorges Co in Wuhan together with local scientific institutions and technology companies.

On June 2, the administrative committee of OVC signed the Three Gorges-East Lake Science City Innovative Development Base Cooperation Framework Agreement with China Three Gorges Co. The two sides agreed that they will launch in-depth collaborations in sci-tech innovation, clean energy, financing and environmental protection. In addition, they will establish the Hubei Three Gorges Sci-tech Fund.
