The international free-port-style youth community project of the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC) won the China Real Estate & Design Award (CREDAWARD) in the "high-end select accommodation" category.

CREDAWARD was launched by DJSER in 2014 and is hailed as the most prestigious award in the field for its strict assessment procedures and open evaluation model.

The competition this year featured 1,353 candidate works from 394 institutions in 15 countries and regions, including China, Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and Singapore.

The judging panel consisted of experts from top overseas academic communities and development and construction groups. Only 4.51 percent of candidate works obtained first place awards.

The youth community project is located in the core area of Wuhan Future City with a total construction area of 550,000 square meters. It will become a youth-oriented intelligent community and a vibrant and open mini-city with free exchange of culture and technologies.
