The "Optics Valley Central City · City Value and Development" online promotion meeting was held in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC) on June 8. Agreements for 13 projects were signed in the Optics Valley Central City.

"The rapid development of the Optics Valley of China has been impressive. The Optics Valley Central City is OVC's core area, and plays an important role in terms of government affairs, business, culture, sports and entertainment, making it attractive to investors," said Vincent H. S. Lo, president of the board of directors of Shui On Group – a Hong Kong-based company mainly involved in property development, construction and construction materials.

The central city has a planned area of 36.15 square meters and is the geographical center of OVC. Since its establishment eight years ago, it has developed a series of public service infrastructure, including the Optics Valley Public service center, Optics Valley Tennis Center, Optics Valley Technology Exposition Center, and Hubei Science and Technology Museum, as well as many high-end communities and business complexes and districts.

The central city is currently home to nine Fortune 500 enterprises, 20 listed companies and 14 corporate headquarters, including Honeywell's emerging market (China) headquarters, Xiaomi's Wuhan headquarters, and OPPO's Wuhan R&D center.

The central city is currently accelerating the construction pace of cultural, educational, medical and sports supporting facilities, including Goxin First Road, Guanggu Fifth Road, the second phase of the Optics Valley Ecological Central Corridor, the Optics Valley Cultural Center, the Optics Valley Concert Hall, and the Optics Valley Theater.
