Forbes China recently issued its list of the 50 Top Women in Tech, which included Wang Ying, general manager and a co-founder of Wuhan EasyDiagnosis Biomedicine Co. The company is based in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC).

Wang graduated from Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2022 and has been dedicated to frontline clinical medicine work since then, giving her a deeper understanding of what the domestic healthcare market really needs.

For more than a decade, Wang has led her research team in the operation of her company's core business – quick diagnostic tests – and has developed and commercialized more than 10 advanced in-vitro diagnostic products. The firm's Nucleic Acid Test Kit COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) and Antigen Test Kit Self-Testing COVID-19(SARS-CoV-2) received national approval in 2020 and 2022, respectively, making it one of the few companies to have both authorized nucleic acid tests and antigen tests.

The aforementioned products have been used at more than 7,000 medical institutions in China, and millions of people benefit from the company's testing and diagnosis services every year.

Wang and her team have established many research platforms for in-vitro diagnostic reagents and auxiliary equipment in point-of-care testing, chemiluminescence, blood gas analysis, and molecular diagnosis. About 200 of the firm’s products have received national or provincial approval and have successfully entered the market. In 2018, Wuhan EasyDiagnosis Biomedicine Co was listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.

2022 is the fourth year that Forbes China has carried out such an assessment. Female scientists and researchers that made the list this year had an average age of 44, with two thirds of them holding doctorate degrees, nearly 40 percent having studied overseas, and over 80 percent working at domestic enterprises.
