Hubei Youth Pioneer Park, which is located in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC), is now home to 46 firms after it began operating three months ago. These firms are providing around 500 jobs for locals, and around 88 percent of workers are young people.

Wuhan Veily Tech Co, based in the pioneer park, is dedicated to helping traditional enterprises achieve intelligent upgrading and transformation by means of artificial intelligence, big data, and internet of things. Its low-cost foot scanner collects data using 44 cameras that can obtain precise information related to foot shape and then determine their ideal shoe size.

The applet connected to the scanner is especially useful to online shoppers who can't physically try shoes on before buying them.

Another company in the park – Wuhan Creatulize Tech Co – has rolled out a portable intelligent disinfection and acarus killer called "Portabot" tailored to individual users. The product can "walk" on beds, conduct sterilization, collect dust and kill acarus.

The company has collaborated with Rongdian Group Co and has sold more than 8,000 Portabots to date.
