The Huangshi Economic and Technological Development Area·Tieshan Area signed a cooperation agreement with the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China). The two development zones, both located in Central China's Hubei province, decided to join forces to build the East Lake (Huangshi) Optoelectronic Information Supporting Industrial Park for OVC's Optoelectronic Information Industrial Park.

The supporting industrial park in question involves a planned construction area of about 66.67 hectares, with the first phase to be established as a smart display industrial park. Infrastructure, talent apartments, and standardized workshops are also planned. The two sides will also form a professional operation team for the park.

Taking full advantage of the leading role of OVC's Optoelectronic Information Industrial Park, the supporting industrial park will work to develop industrial chains for lasers, integrated circuits, advanced displays, and smart devices, and shape a 100-billion-yuan ($15.67 billion) optoelectronic information cluster in the city of Huangshi, which will also facilitate the deployment of OVC's "optics, IC, displays, terminals and internet" industrial cluster in its sci-tech innovation corridor.

As the second national economic and development zone established in the province, the Huangshi Economic and Technological Development Area has brought in LianChuang Electronic Technology Co, Xtek Semiconductor (Huangshi) Co and other enterprises, and has formed a relatively complete electronic information industrial chain. It is home to China's third largest printed circuit board manufacturing base.
