Song Xiaohu, a photographer, formed a team in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC) back in 2015.

The team has cooperated with more than 10 countries in filming, including Russia, Iran, Italy, and Japan, and has won many domestic and global cinematography awards.

The team, which travels a lot, has fewer than 20 members, one-third of whom have studied overseas. "Travelling is just a part of life in our work. We are a group of inquisitive and passionate young people looking to achieve our dreams and produce quality works," said Song.

Song didn't plan on becoming a photographer though. He graduated from Huazhong University of Science and Technology with a degree in civil engineering and worked as an urban planning engineer.

He decided to quit his job and pursue further studies in Paris after randomly developing an interest in photography.

During school holidays, he traveled through Europe to take photos, and soon he was getting more than 1 million views on his blog.

Not satisfied with just images, he also wanted to try his hand at filming videos, which is why he founded his team in OVC.

One of his team's masterpieces, East Lake, is a promotional video for Wuhan that has been used by various domestic and overseas mainstream media outlets.
