Optics Valley development attracts public attention

The Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone, also known as Optics Valley of China, has made enormous contributions to the rapid development of the economy in China. 

Founded in 1988 as one of the first national high-tech zones, the Optics Valley has become a hub for innovation, industries, talent and opening-up. 

Its outstanding achievements have attracted the attention of national mainstream media agencies such as People's Daily, Xinhua News Agency, and Guangming Daily, which have made detailed reports on its development. 

Science and Technology Daily reported on Dec 2 that the value of optoelectronics information industrial output in Optics Valley from January to August exceeded 125.52 billion yuan ($19.73 billion), a year-on-year increase of 40.2 percent.

When the 6th generation semi-conductor display device production line of China Star Optoelectronics Technology Co set up operations in the valley on Dec 3, People's Daily, Guangming Daily, Xinhua News Agency, and China Business News all reported the event by saying that "Optics Valley has become one of the major hubs of the new display industry in China". 

People's Daily made a series of reports titled "Observation of the Chinese Economy in 20221" on Dec 4, which talked about Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable Joint Stock Limited Company (YOFC). YOFC managed to achieve technical innovation and digital transformation, and set up nationally advanced industrial internet platforms.

On Dec 6, the Morning News of China Central Television made a special report on Wuhan Guide Infrared Co, a listed company specializing in infrared thermal imaging technology in the Optics Valley. Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the company has distributed more than 1 million sets of temperature measuring equipment around the country.
