24 Hubei projects win national sci-tech awards

The 2020 Ceremony of the National Science and Technology Awards was held on Nov 3, and the number of awarded projects in Hubei was 24, ranking fifth in China.

One project from Wuhan University and one project from Huazhong University of Science and Technology won the first place in the State Science and Technology Awards. One is a project on high-resolution remote sensing led by Academician Li Deren from Wuhan University, and the other is a project on electronic components encapsulation led by Professor Liu Sheng from Huazhong University of Science and Technology. The latter project has been engaged by many domestic enterprises and has produced a series of encapsulation and testing equipment, which were installed in many flexible production lines.

Projects led by Professors Jin Hai and Liu Wei from Huazhong University of Science and Technology on cloud computing and industrial heat-exchange equipment won the second place in the National Natural Science Awards.

Another two projects related to rice research from Wuhan University and the Hubei Academy of Agricultural Sciences also took the second place in the State Science and Technology Awards.
