The 18th Optics Valley of China International Optoelectronic Exposition and Forum in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC) concluded on Oct 29.

During the opening ceremony, 27 key industrial projects worth 30.6 billion yuan ($4.59 billion) were signed, setting a record among optoelectronic expos.

On Oct 27, the first day of the expo, one themed summit forum, three industrial exchange summits, 18 technical seminars and four other activities were held, inviting academicians and experts to discuss frontier topics such as optical communications, lasers, optical innovation and applications.

Yangtze Optical Fibre & Cable Joint Stock Ltd promoted its smart industrial park solutions and HGTECH Co exhibited the first domestic laser cleaning equipment to be used in the bridge industry.

In addition, China Mobile Communications, China Telecommunications, China Unicom, China Broadcasting Network, and China Tower Co participated in the fifth generation fixed networks (F5G) exhibition at the expo.

Meanwhile, seven British optoelectronic enterprises held roadshows on precise measurement, semi-conductor equipment, and customized cables.
