International IP forum to open in Optics Valley

The 19th Optics Valley of China Intellectual Property (IP) International Forum will kick off in Wuhan's Optics Valley on Oct 27. 

The forum has been held a total of 18 times and is the most influential international IP event hosted in China with the largest number of sessions and the longest duration.

This year's forum will be hosted by the China National Intellectual Property Administration and the Wuhan municipal government. 

Its goal is to gather wisdom and develop an IP valley. It will focus on promoting the high-quality development of IP rights and building a new IP protection model.

A total of 11 experts and scholars, officials from international organizations in the IP field, internationally renowned IP strategy experts, and corporate IP executives will attend the forum. 

Attendees will include Yi Jiming, director of the Institute for International Intellectual Property of Peking University, Lyu Guoliang, consultant of the World Intellectual Property Organization China Office, Robert Gaybrick, an international IP strategy development expert, and Liang Yuying, IP Director of Inventec Appliances (Shanghai) Co. 

The forum is divided into a summit and several themed forums focusing on IP creation, use, protection, management, and service-related practices. Themes include the sharing of experience in the global governance of IP under the multilateral framework of the World Intellectual Property Organization, the exploration of international IP strategies and development trends, IP litigation, and unfair competition and prevention of monopolies.

Meanwhile, the forum will also invite guests to carry out face-to-face exchanges and talk with companies in the Optics Valley on the development of corporate IP.
