Pan Jiahua, an official from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, highlighted the valley's strengths in new energy, new materials, micro-grids, and intelligent control technologies, which will accelerate the decarbonization process.

The China Renewable Energy Society, the China Energy Research Society, the Hubei Association for Science and Technology, the Wuhan science and technology bureau, and the administrative bureau of Optics Valley signed a contract at the conference, pledging to build a green low-carbon industry and green finance innovation expert service station in the valley.

Optics Valley was approved as one of 22 Innovation China trial zones in 2020, and the carbon neutrality and peak targets are considered an integral part of the East Lake Science City currently under construction.

Along with the establishment of the National Carbon Emission Rights Registration System in Wuhan, the city will become the world's largest hub for carbon trading registration and the national hub for carbon trading market regulation. OVC will seize this opportunity to provide overall support through policies, technologies, and finance to achieve low-carbon transformation.
