According to the 2021 Big Data Industry Pilot Program List published by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MITT) in September, a total of nine Hubei-based big data programs were chosen, among which eight programs are established in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC).

In the industrial big data application field, four programs, including the precise space time big data cloud comprehensive monitoring platform from Wuhan Exsun BD Space Time Technology Co, and the Wuhan smart city big data analysis and application basic platform from Wuhan Fiberhome Integration Technology Co, were selected as pilot programs in the finance, medicine, emergency, and city brain application field.

In addition, two programs were listed in the trans-sector data integration application field. Two programs from Wuhan Dameng Database Co and Wuhan Zondy Cyber Science &Technology Co were chosen in the big data security field as well.

Lastly, there are 204 big data pilot programs selected by the ministry, which focus on 10 specific aspects in four fields – industrial big data application, industrial big data application, major big data products, and statistics management and services. These programs are vital to the implementation of China's big data strategy and will produce beneficial and repeatable experiences for the high-quality development of the big data industry.
