The vegetable and meat supply has been sufficient in Wuhan, with a total of 7,400 metric tons of vegetables and 400 tons of meat served to consumers' tables every day. A sufficient food supply ensures that prices can be maintained at a reasonable level without any dramatic fluctuations.

Wei Zhenghui, a worker in charge of a local agricultural base in Wuhan, said that the base has adopted a semi-automatic production model to grow and harvest vegetables. Many vegetables at the base are fast-growing and become mature within 20 days.

Meanwhile, due to safety concerns, the Wuhan government has assigned special groups to investigate disinfection work done on poultry.
