A 5G program of China Information Communication Technologies Group Corporation (CICT) was signed on July 8 in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China, or OVC) in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province.

Officials from the provincial and municipal governments and the OVC administrative committee, as well as CICT's chairman, attended the signing ceremony.

The program reportedly demonstrates CICT's strong innovation capabilities and reflects the corresponding obligations and responsibilities that a central enterprise should shoulder.

The local government will work to offer favorable policies, a strong innovation ecosystem, and the convenient government services to help the firm resolve any problem it encounters in the program. The government also pledges to join forces with the company to build a world-class optoelectronic information industrial cluster.

Lu Guoqing, president of CICT, expressed his intent during the ceremony to allocate more resources and investment to boost the wireless communication industry. The company will work harder to enhance Hubei’s industrial and supply chains.
