Seven science and technology venues in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China) in Wuhan, capital city of Central China's Hubei province, were recently designated as the zone's first batch of Party history education bases. HGTECH Laser Technology Museum is one of them.

As the first laser technology museum in China, the museum covers an area of around 3,000 square meters, and focuses on laser displays and research into laser application processes.

Exhibits at the museum explore the principles and applications of lasers, covering areas including entertainment, media, 3D printing, manufacturing, and minimally invasive surgery.

They show that the applications of lasers range from ships, large aircraft, drilling platforms and high-speed railways to chips, folding screens, and anti-counterfeiting QR codes during mobile phone camera assembly. Seventy percent of auto parts are processed by laser.

Hours of operation: 9 am-4:30 pm on Tuesday, 9-11:30 am on the second and fourth Saturday of each month; no service on national statutory holidays.
