New junior middle school opens its doors in Optics Valley

Optics Valley No 4 Junior Middle School was inaugurated on March 9 at the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China) in Wuhan, the capital of Central China's Hubei province.

Located adjacent to Hubei University of Education and Optics Valley International Tennis Center, the school is about 5 kilometers from Optics Valley Railway Station. It has 48 classrooms, offering 2,400 enrollment places.

With an investment of 230 million yuan ($35.35 million), the school is the latest junior high school in the zone and boasts 22 individualized learning spaces, including science laboratories and music, dance and fine arts classrooms.

It also has a lecture hall that can accommodate 600 people, a canteen that can accommodate 800 students and a 1,000-square-meter indoor stadium.

In addition, more than 70 percent of the school's teachers have a master's degree.

This semester, the first batch of more than 300 teachers and students will move to the school.
