The second phase of construction on the China Mobile (Hubei) East Lake high-tech information park project began on Jan 20 at Wuhan Future City in East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China) in Wuhan, the capital of Central China's Hubei province. Once completed, the park will become a high-level data center and strengthen cloud computing service infrastructure.

Invested and built by China Mobile, the project has a total construction area of 81,000 square meters. It is China Mobile's first green demonstration information park in Hubei.

The project's second-phase plan has a construction area of about 59,000 sq m, and it includes the assembly of two buildings for data rooms, power-support rooms and production-support rooms. After its completion, the facility will be able to install 10,000 data units.

At present, about 22,000 sq m of data rooms have been completed and put into operation as part of the project's first phase.

Not far away from the project, China Telecom Hubei (national) broadband R&D center and China Unicom cloud computing data center are also accelerating their expansion.

Wuhan Future City is stepping up the construction of high-level data centers and 5G networks by China's three major telecom operators and promoting the top node of industrial internet identification and resolution.

The area is also developing the Yangtze River Kunpeng ecological innovation center and constructing Wuhan's artificial intelligence computing center to build the first-class new infrastructure system in China.
