Wuhan, the capital of Central China's Hubei province, will launch the affirmation of key enterprises in the online economy and give subsidy to qualified enterprises, according to local media reports on Jan 13.

As an important measure to further encourage enterprises to develop the online economy, the announcement was made at a press conference introducing the breakthrough developments of the city's digital economy.

It was an important act of the detailed rules of the implementation plan for promoting online economy development in Wuhan.

According to the detailed rules, separate legal entity enterprises with industrial and commercial registration, tax registration and a statistical relationship in Wuhan, with annual business income of more than 30 million yuan ($4.63 million), and online business income accounting for 50 percent or more of the total yearly business income, can apply to be recognized as the municipal key online economy enterprises.

The maximum annual single subsidy is 500,000 yuan, and these units can apply for skill training subsidies for new employees at a standard of 1,000 yuan per person.

Enterprises (platforms) in the library of key enterprises (platforms) in the city's online economy will be awarded 300,000 yuan and 500,000 yuan, respectively, if they are rated as leading enterprises or characteristic platforms.
