Two top esports clubs in China -- Eternal Star Game (eStar Gaming) and Victory Five Esports Club -- officially joined hands on Dec 19 to establish Xingjing Weiwu esports company.

The new venture is located in Wuhan, capital city of Central China's Hubei province, with its headquarters in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone -- also known as Optics Valley.

The initiative offered a great opportunity for the development of Wuhan's esports industry.

According to local media reports, the newly established company has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Hubei Media Group and Shenzhen Media Group. It has become the only esports company with two main venues in China.

In 2021, it will stage 27 matches throughout the year and host two top leagues, namely the League of Legends Pro League (LPL) and the King Pro League (KPL) and it will also create a matrix camp that is exclusive to esports players and fans.

With esports officially listed as an event at 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China's esports industry has entered the fast-track of its development.

After the merger, Xingjing Weiwu is expected to further play a leading role in the industry and help its expansion in Wuhan.
