The East Lake High-tech Development Zone, also known as Optics Valley of China -- located in Wuhan, capital city of Central China's Hubei province -- is to get a slew of new 5G and industrial internet projects.

Three regional center projects were unveiled and four new projects were signed off at the opening ceremony for the China 5G + Industrial Internet Industry Conference held at the zone on Nov 20.

One of the ventures launched at the ceremony is the Central China base for the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, or CAICT.

The other ventures are the Hubei branch of the CAII, or the China Academy of the Industrial Internet and the Hubei branch of the CAII big data center.

All three projects will be located in Optics Valley and they would be instrumental in promoting the sharing of industrial internet big data resources among various business entities within the whole province, thereby enhancing the value of big data.

Among the four projects -- whose representatives on Nov 20 signed agreements to settle in the zone -- is a project to build new infrastructure for block chain and industrial internet collaboration, launched by the CAICT.

It will use block chain technology to solve current problems in the processing of industrial internet identification and the transformation of industrial digitization.

Prior to this, a project for industrial internet identity resolutions at the State-level top node (Wuhan) was built by the CAICT and the zone.

The project is running steadily after going online in September 2018 -- enhancing the zone's network infrastructure service capability, as well as influence in the field of the industrial internet.
