A national conference on 5G and the industrial internet was recently held in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone -- also known as Optics Valley of China, located in Wuhan, capital city of Central China's Hubei province -- which showcased significant achievements made in the field.

The event, named the China 5G + Industrial Internet Conference, kicked off on Nov 19 and was planned to run for three days.

The event was billed as the first national-level conference in the field and had a display area covering 6,000 square meters.

A series of forums were held on day one and a number of 5G key technologies, industrial public service platforms and 5G industry applications went on display.

About 14 companies were selected to show their technologies and products at the event co-hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Hubei provincial government.

Meanwhile, Optics Valley resident companies -- including China Information and Communication Technology Group Co Ltd and Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable Joint Stock Limited Company, or YOFC -- showcased their advanced products during the event.
