79 patients discharged from Optics Valley cabin hospital

A total of 79 novel coronavirus pneumonia patients were discharged on Feb 26 from the pop-up emergency hospital installed in the Optics Valley Convention and Exhibition Center in East Lake High-tech Development Zone -- also known as Optics Valley of China -- in Wuhan, capital city of Central China's Hubei province, zone officials said.

They said it was the biggest number of patients discharged in a single day since the opening of the temporary facility on Feb 17.

After 10 days of receiving patients, 875 patients were admitted to the hospital, 166 patients were discharged, 48 patients were transferred to other hospitals -- and the total number of people leaving the hospital had reached 214.

Up to 17:00 on Feb 26, 440 CAT scans and 865 nucleic acid examinations had carried out on patients in the hospital.

According to Tang Chuanping, head of the Optics Valley pop-up hospital, the number of discharged patients on Feb 27 was expected to exceed the number of Feb 26.
