Wuhan Grove Hydrogen Automotive Co Ltd, a company based at East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China) in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province, launched a hydrogen fuel cell powered car on March 20.

The car, named Grove, has been independently developed by the company, and emits only water, enabling it to be refueled in minutes. It is able to travel more than 1,000 kilometers on a single tank.

Made from lightweight composite materials, the advanced kinetic energy recovery systems of the car help reduce the total amount of energy needed to travel.

The company, dedicated to large scale development and production of hydrogen fuel cell passenger vehicles, aims to become a world leader in hydrogen vehicles by the end of 2025.

The Grove hydrogen fuel cell passenger vehicle project was launched in September 2016, and is its first sports-type vehicle to be unveiled at Shanghai Motorshow this April.

In 2020, the Grovel vehicles will be put into mass production, and the Institute of Geosciences and Environment (IGE), Grove's parent company in China, will cooperate with the country's first-tier cities in constructing the infrastructure required for hydrogen vehicles.
