Cao Guangjing, deputy governor of Central China's Hubei province, visited East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China) in Wuhan, Hubei's provincial capital, on Feb 12.

Cao mainly visited some companies engaging in chip, screen, terminal and network industries in the zone, to gain knowledge of their development and operation.

He toured Wuhan Xinxin Semiconductor Manufacturing Co, Lenovo's Wuhan base, and Wuhan Tianma Microelectronics.

Following visiting production lines and R&D centers of the companies, Cao emphasized that the industries are an important drive for Hubei's industrial development, and companies should seize opportunities such as initial period of the 5G technology and rapid development of the new display sector to accelerate development.

The zone should also give more support to these companies and help them tackle problems in development, added Cao.
