11th China Bioindustry Convention concludes in Optics Valley

The 11th China Bioindustry Convention & 3rd Bio-expo • Optics Valley of China concluded at China Optics Valley Convention and Exhibition Center in Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China), Wuhan, capital of central China’s Hubei province, on May 27.

China Bioindustry Convention is the largest-scale, highest-level and most influential annual event in the country’s bio sector.

Optics Valley of China signed 26 projects with total investment of over 20 billion yuan ($3.13 billion) in the life sciences and health industry during the event.

Six exhibition areas covered an area of nearly 20,000 square meters, including biomedicine, precision diagnosis and treatment, smart medical care, and medical equipment. 

According to preliminary statistics, 78,000 visitors attended the three-day event.

More than 300 leading bio companies from all around the world exhibited their latest achievements, including a smart operating room developed by United Imaging Healthcare, a self-developed full-scale high-throughput sequencer by BGI Genomics, and a capsule endoscopy robot developed by Ankon Technologies.

A total of 26 forums and around 50 seminars were held during the event, covering areas such as biomedicine innovation and quality control, biotechnology in Asia, and gene technology.

More than 400 experts attended the event and shared their opinions on the development of China’s bio industry, including 13 academicians, more than 200 professionals from various medical institutions, over 100 academics, as well as more than 60 businesspeople.
