Huawei’s Wuhan base in Optics Valley to come into use

The first-phase construction of Huawei Technologies’ Wuhan base in East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China) will come into use in March, which can accommodate about 10,000 employees.

The base will focus on intelligent home industry and help Wuhan build a smart city. 

Huawei Technologies, a world leading information and communications technology solutions provider, established a research institute in 2011 at the Future City in Optics Valley of China. 

Since its establishment in Wuhan, Huawei institute has focused on building an optical power center and a terminal research and development center.

Currently the institute has more than 4,500 staff members, and half of them have master degree. 

Following the completion of its base in Wuhan, Huawei will boost development of the high-tech industry in Wuhan.
