360 Enterprise Security Group is to establish its second headquarters at East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China) in Wuhan, central China’s Hubei province, establishing a research, development and operations center in the zone, according to recent news.

With “protecting information in the big data era” as its mission, the company is an integrated group that provides new-generation security products and security services, especially for government and the private sector.

The center in the zone mainly takes responsibility for constantly monitoring national and even global cyber security, and research and development of cyber security products and services.

Tan Xiaosheng, 360’s chief security officer, said that the company has around 10,000 square meters of office space in Optics Valley of China, and will recruit staff soon.

It is estimated that more than 200 engineers in operations, security research and software development will work at the center by next year.

“Networks are not safe, with incidents such as the ransomware virus WannaCry, which infected more than 300,000 computers in 150 countries and regions during May,” said Tan.

Firewalls aren’t enough, attacks need to be analyzed to be able to properly understand them, he added.

Therefore, the company will attach much importance to the training of workers in the security field, with the aim of training 10,000 professional IT security workers in the future.
