Agreements worth $3b signed on the first day of OVC EXPO

On the first day of the 14th Optics Valley of China International Optoelectronic Exposition and Forum (OVC EXPO 2017), 12 projects were agreed involving total investment of more than 20 billion yuan ($3.02 billion) in East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China).

The OVC EXPO 2017 opened at China Optics Valley Convention and Exhibition Center in Wuhan, central China’s Hubei province on Nov 1, and will last until Nov 3.

The new projects cover areas including high-end equipment manufacturing, internet cloud technology, auto parts, software, optoelectronic information, and medical apparatus and instruments, demonstrating the zone’s great appeal for emerging industries.

According to the agreements, Tsinghua Unigroup will establish integrated circuit industrial funds to support the ongoing construction of the National Memory Base and development of its related industries in the zone. Yunke China Information Technology Limited will establish an internet cloud technology research center and an internet security experience center in the zone. Wuhan COBOT Technology will invest in research and industrialization of collaboration and flexible operating systems for industrial robots .
